What to pack for a year around the world? A walk through of my bag after 11 1/2 months abroad.
I generally followed the advice from One Bag and 1Bag1World; specifically choosing:
- smart wool socks ($8 per pair)
- panasonic lumix dmc-zs3 ($350 or so)
- nano flashlight ($7)
- exofficio wrinkle release shirt (or similar) ($25+ depending on sales)
- osprey porter 46 liter bag ($100 or less)
- light my fire spork ($2)
- flexoline clothes line ($10)
- universal power adapter ($1 on ebay)
- hp mini netbook ($300+)
- sea to summit dry sack x-large 20 liters ($11 on sale)
- columbia cascade creek II water shorts ($15 on sale)
- MSR packtowl original x-large ($23)
- thermal (long underwear) top and bottoms ($10 or so each)
- jagbags silk sleeping sheet ($30)
- ellipse belt ($12)
- light rain jacket ($10)
- wool hat ($8)
also forgot to mention in the video:
- casio classic iIluminator watch ($20 or so)
Items that I haven’t linked to can generally be found easily at your local drugstore or outdoor store (REI, etc).
