My Favorite Indian-isms
Being in India does funny things to your English:
Snacks - we use this word just the same in the States, but somehow it comes up much more frequently here: “5:30, time for Snacks!”
Only - usually ends up stuck at the end of sentences: “I’m just getting some water only”
Man - “C’mon man” - lots of need for “C’mon man’s”...

Propane in Bangalore
Hotel Guest: I've lived in Bangalore for a year and a half.
Me: What's that like?
Hotel Guest: I jumped on the opportunity to live on an American salary, I knew it would be no problem. But some things you don't think about. For example, Bangalore has no gas pipeline, and in order to get a gas tank you have to fill out countless forms and get on a government waiting list for 2 months.
Me: So you live without gas for two months?
Hotel Guest: Of course not. You fill out the forms and then you go on the black market and buy your gas tank.
