Booking a flight from India to Thailand is an easy 10 step process:

1. Find the flight online.
2. Book the flight.
3. Find out on the last page that you can’t pay for the flight online.
4. Locate the physical Thai Air office in Bangalore.
5. Go there before work, sit around and wait for someone to show up.
6. Try to pay for the flight. (except that you can’t, because they won’t let you buy a one-way ticket without proof of a return ticket to the U.S, which you don’t have because you’re traveling around for another 10 months)
7. Leave Thai Air empty handed.
8. Ask the nice people at work to issue you a temporary return ticket home. (hooray for 24 hour cancellation windows)
9. Rinse and repeat the procedure with the Thai Air office, present your temporary ticket.
10. Woooo! Success! Pay for the ticket. (and pray that officials don’t check the validity of your supposed ticket at the border)
